The Legacy of Sacrifice: Serving God with Extravagant Zeal

In our contemporary Christian culture, convenience is highly celebrated. We want quick blessings, comfortable seats, and effortless grace. But if we look back at the pioneers of spiritual revivals, their lives were marked by a completely different trait: extravagant, sacrificial zeal.

When our Senior Pastor, Reverend Franck Mubira, was a young ministry leader traveling through remote villages to strengthen local churches, there were no paved roads or comfortable vehicles. There were only miles of exhausting walking tracks. Yet, his burning desire to see God glorified through worship was unstoppable.

Because of his unique anointing as a drummer and worship leader, his ministry brothers would literally carry him on a Tipoy — a traditional porter's chair—over difficult terrains, just to ensure that the man carrying the rhythm of praise arrived with full strength to lead the people into the glory of God.

What Are You Carrying for the Kingdom?

This powerful historical picture forces us to ask ourselves a crucial question today: What are we willing to sacrifice for the house of God?

True ministry is birthed when we move past what we can *get* from God, and focus entirely on what we can give to Him. Whether it is serving in a local ministry, helping a vulnerable refugee in the streets of Kampala, or standing in the gap as an intercessor, your labor of love leaves a spiritual footprint.

The Currency of Honor

Pastor Franck’s journey teaches us that when you honor the presence of God, God honors your path. He served faithfully as a young drummer, then as an evangelist under Bishop Didier Punzu, and later as a servant in other local ministries in Uganda before God lifted him to pioneer Kisima Bethsaida.

Let us revive the spirit of holy zeal. Do not offer to God that which costs you nothing (2 Samuel 24:24). Step out of your comfort zone this week and serve someone else with the radical love of Christ.
